Offering 3-star holiday accommodation close to the beach in Kommetjie, Cape Peninsula, Cape Town – a beautifully appointed seaside holiday cottage with swimming pool, for up to six guests.

Less than a minutes’ drive from wild and wonderful Kommetjie Longbeach, Glen Cottage is a delightful, immaculate, fisherman-style self-catering cottage, with sparkling swimming pool, built-in barbeque and shady gazebo, offering relaxed and comfortable seaside holidays close to the beach sleeping up to 6 guests with all the comforts of home, quality assured and highly recommended by the AA.

The 3-star quality self-catering accommodation comprises spacious sitting and dining room areas open-plan to a well equipped, fully fitted kitchen with microwave, fridge, cooker and hob. The main bedroom with double bed is ensuite to a shower bathroom; the second bedroom has bunk beds and there are two further single beds behind private timber and wrought-iron screens on the enclosed verandah. There is a second, family bathroom with bath and shower over. There is also a cot for a babe in arms or a toddler, a high chair and a safety net for the pool. The cottage sleeps six, but the kitchen caters for eight.

Further facilities include washing machine, tumble drier, iron and ironing board, TV with DSTV, a DVD player, a radio/CD/tape player and a selection of CDs and board games. All crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, bed linen, blankets and towels are provided, even coffee, tea and sugar – just bring your clothes and a beach towel. Beach chairs and a sun umbrella that you can take to the beach are also provided. In the summer a large fan keeps you cool; in winter there are wall heaters in all rooms and a gas heater in the sitting room.

The small, fully enclosed and private garden is beautifully planted with lush vegetation and features a sparkling pool (there’s a safety net if required), a built-in barbeque, a shady gazebo with table and benches for al fresco dining, sun-loungers and a large sunshade. There’s also a remote-operated single garage plus further off-street parking.

Everybody who has stayed here loves this little cottage. It’s less than a minute’s drive from wild and wonderful Kommetjie Longbeach, a world famous surfing venue, and also close to a small river that you can walk down to get there – in just 5 minutes. By day it’s a sheltered, restful haven in a beautiful and mellow setting, and at night the sea is sometimes so loud it’s as if you’re sleeping in the dunes.
